Design should create the feeling of nostalgia and innovation. It should excite the child in you while fueling your future self.
Where these moments tend to show themselves are early in the preproduction process... right alongside the bad ideas. This parallel is why concept creation is my favorite part of the design process; this is where thoughts are flowing and show most of their promise.
